 YATCH BOY 210

The perfect craft for armchair travellers This is the sophisticated radio that steps up into the powerful 2 Watts class. The 10 transistors, 8 diodes and large Grundig multi-octave Superphon loudspeaker make far-away stations sound just around the corner.
You illuminate the scale, twist the easy-grip tuner and dial across to one of the pre-positioned markers that tells you where your favourite stations are. Four wavebands to choose from by pushbutton: Short, Medium, Long and VHF. There's automatic frequency control to counteract drift on VHF, a battery condition indicator, a twin extension telescopic aerial and a fully variable tone control with 'bass' switch. AII very impressive in action. Plus a full range of sockets for earphones, tape recorder or pick-up, mains supply (using an optional extra mains unit), and for external aerials for both AM and VHF.
And there's a choice of a rich walnut finished case, or a black finished case both with satinised metal trim.

SOLO BOY 200LE
Sounds great - small wonder This baby of the Grundig range is built to give the purity and clarity of tone which you would expect from a much bigger set.
Measuring 8.5"x4.5"x2.25"- it weighs a mere 2 lbs. Yet within are 9 transistors, 5 diodes and a high quality 4.5"x 2.75" elliptical loudspeaker. All this gives high sensitivity and selectivity to make the Solo Boy ideal for reception of local radio even in fringe areas.

Long, Medium and VHF wavebands are selected by push-buttons. Station tuning is accurately controlled by a knurled wheel on the front. The snap-up telescopic aerial can be aimed directionally. The handle can be detached when not required. And there's a socket for listening with a  private earphone, or even extension speaker.
What's more this compact Solo Boy looks as great as it sounds. The shatterproof case has a handsome teak grain finish, with slatted grille and satinised trim (as illustrated) or there's a 'Sun-Star' grille with black and satinised trim.

 MUSIC BOY 210E

The Pied Piper of the wavelengths This is one of Grundig's masterpieces - a powerful portable with the depth of sound that makes you think you're listening to an expensive mains receiver.
Inside is a fantastic line-up of 10 transistors, 6 diodes and a 5 1/2"x3 3/4" loudspeaker. As a result you get crystal-clear reception on Long, Medium, Short and VHF wavebands - with 1 1/2 Watts of output power to give you all the volume you'll ever need.

The Music Boy gives you Radio 1, 2, 3 and 4,  plus local broadcasts, plus continental stations, because its high sensitivity and selectivity makes it a superb performer even in fringe areas.
Added to which, there's a tone control, the aerial is telescopic, the wavelenth selectors are push-buttons and the carrying handle can be detached when not required. There's a socket for an earphone attachment, another for tape recording and yet another to connect to mains power (using an optional extra mains unit).
AII this comes in a walnut finished shatter proof case with metal trim. Quite a virtuoso.

PARTY BOY 210E

Magnificent mobile music maker Compare the power with other similar priced radios. The 9 transistors and 5 diodes pull in stations you may have never heard before. Turn up the volume and you get them loud and clear, with 1 1/2 Watts output through a large loudspeaker (5 1/2"x 3 3/4").

Now hear the Party Boy on VHF. pull out the 8-stage telescopic aerial and tilt it in any direction for crystal-clear, high gain reception. All this, and tone selector too!
The Long, Medium and VHF wavebands are selected by metal capped pushbuttons. The carrying handle can be detached when not required. There are connecting sockets for earphone and tape recorder or pick-up. And with the necessary mains unitt (optional extra) you can run the Party Boy from the mains.
With its black and satinised trim, and 'Sun-Star' grille, the Party Boy comes across as a good looking, very versatile, all-round performer.

MELODY BOY 500E

Home and away winner This is one of a new range of Grundig radios which combine the virtues of a transistor portable with a built-in mains unit. The Melody Boy 500 gives you a full 1 1/2 Watts output on batteries or mains (3 Watts 'Music Power' on mains). Through its powerful 5 1/2"x3 3/4" elliptical speaker it locks you accurately onto Long, Medium, Short or VHF wavebands. To change wavebands, just press tile new-style 'block button' switches. At the side there's a new tuning knob, big enough to give you sensitive station selection, that pushes away into the set when not in use. Grundig's precisely accurate sliders replace the usual tone and volume control. Weighing only 5 lbs and incorporating no less than 11 transistors and 8 diodes in its good looking black case with wood-look grille and satinised metal trim, this superb new Grundig is clearly a w'inner - home or away.

ELITE BOY 500E

4 bands - big sound Like the Melody Boy 500, this is a new mains/battery set covering four wavebands - Long, Medium, Short and VHF. Output is up to 3 Watts using the built-in mains power unit and a healthy 1 1/2 watts on batteries. The same 'push away' tuning knob is fitted on the side of the set whilst wave change is by square 'block buttons'. For volume and tone, precise slider controls are fItted.
Altogether 11 transistors and 8 diodes are built into this highly sensitive receiver to create that big sound from the 5 1/2"x3 3/4" speaker. In its black and satinised metal case with 'Sun-Star' speaker grille, it is a typical example of Grundig perfectionism typically ahead of its time.

 MELODY BOY 1000E

Super station selector Another new winner from Grundig. Selects all your favourite European stations on five wavebands and brings them to you with really big sound. Output is 2 Watts on batteries, 4 Watts on mains (7 Watts music power). That means you get the clear tone and faithful reproduction you need, even when the volume is turned down. The latest 'block button' switches bring in VHF, Long wave, Medium wave and twin Short wave scales. Precision slider controls cover volume and tone.
There is a double-extension telescopic aerial for VHF and Short wave listening and a sensitive built-in ferrite rod aerial for Medium and Long wave. Among the sockets on the set is one for a VHF dipole, AM aerial /earth, tape recorder /pick up and extension speaker. Tuning has been made easier with a special tuning knob which pushes away into the side of the set when not in use. Altogether13 transistors and 13 diodes and rectifiers go into the Melody Boy 1000E. The result, in its leather grain look, metal trim black case, is listening way ahead of its time - in the best traditions of Grundig perfectionism.

SATELLIT 1000

Mains/battery communications receiver An advance on 'the most advanced transistor portable in the world' - which was how we described the first Satellit set. This is the set for the serious listener who wants to be sure of tuning precisely to any station on VHF, LW MW, SW and Marine bands. To pinpoint short wave transmissions, 8 of the 9 SW bands can be bandspread across the whole tuning scale. Controls include precision sliders for volume, plus treble and bass, 'block buttons' for wavechange, PU and outside aerial, and tweeter switch. Controls include fine tuning for SW1, a special aerial trimmer, switchable AFC for VHF listening, duplex tuning drive. The Satellit 1000 is a double superhet receiver and has an RF stage using FETs. A battery indicator makes sure you don't get caught without enough power, an SSB unit helps you receive single side band signals and there are sockets to plug in AM or FM aerials, tape recorder, car aerial extension speaker, or earphone. The two loudspeakers come even more into their own if the built-in mains converter unit is brought into use. The 2 Watts (rms.) power output produced on batteries alone, rises to 4 Watts (rms.) on mains. (7 Watts Music Power).
